Blueprint 4D Recap & Highlights

There was a lot of love for JD Edwards at this year’s Blueprint 4D, from incredible learning experiences, valuable networking opportunities, unique customer appreciation events and connecting with new & longtime JDE friends ❤️

It was a special week for the CE team, as we were honored to receive the Quest Oracle Community Outstanding Partner of the Year award. The award represents 20+ years of dynamic collaboration and bringing together #JDEdwards #Cloud #ERP customers to connect, learn, grow and innovate through amazing conferences, user group events & more.

This year’s conference was packed with customer stories, including the opportunity to hear directly from CE customers who are solving business challenges, driving digital transformation and adopting supply chain automation and mobility to deliver more value.

The JD Edwards keynote featured Sriram Krishnamurthy, CIO at AG Jeans. AG Jeans is known for incredible craftsmanship and comfort of their products, focusing on quality fabrics and custom tailoring. Sriram spoke about the company’s long history with JD Edwards, and how they streamlined their ecommerce, retail, wholesale and manufacturing operations by consolidating workloads to OCI from on-premises and other clouds – while also improving scalability, reliability and agility to better meet the needs of their customers.

Several customer stories were featured during “Supply Chain Automation and Mobility in JDE using AtomIQ.” This exciting session led by Nitin Lakhpat showcased key capabilities of AtomIQ including WMS+ (a standalone warehouse management system), Integration Studio (next-gen microservice-based orchestrations), Approval Workbench (workflow-based approval engine) and Notifications, and how customers are using these capabilities to realize supply chain automation and ensure a cohesive and synchronized experience. One of the coolest demos in this session was the AI-based Chatbot, which we saw an amazing use case for voice-activated picking #innovation.

I was also glad to catch “Improving Productivity through Orchestrations: Atrion Corporation’s RMA Story” featuring Haren Kommera, Corporate Director of IT and John Rose, Director of JDE Systems at Atrion. Atrion is leading supplier of medical devices and components to niche markets in the health care and medical industry who was facing challenges with returns management authorizations in JD Edwards. They realized an opportunity to automate certain steps that made their processes inefficient, such as material handoff, communications across multiple departments, delays in creation of transactions, etc. Through orchestrations, the company improved productivity, reduced human error, and automated work order creation, among other benefits.

I am always excited to hear about new features and enhancements, and Hari’s “Simplify & Transform JDE System Admin with Release 24” provided a great opportunity. We first explored notable features within Release 22/23, and then took a look at amazing Release 24 capabilities that help make the lives of system administrators easier such as an enhanced Update Manager, centralized configuration management for multiple server types and push to deploy functionality.

PS – dive further into these enhancements by subscribing to the popular 9.2 Capabilities Whitepaper which was updated right before BP4D with the latest R24 Apps & Tools features 😊

JD Edwards in the Cloud was another hot topic at the conference! Hari Karnati, CE’s Sr Director of Solution Engineering and Cloud expert, shared how JDE customers are extending, modernizing and complementing their business processes with IaaS, PaaS and SaaS and what it really means to run E1 in the Cloud. We also learned about common strategies for cloud adoption including hybrid cloud and multi-cloud options across OCI, AWS and Azure.

Another way JDE customers are extending their business processes in the Cloud is with Cloud EPM, a cloud-based solution for managing financial performance featuring tools for budgeting, forecasting, planning, financial reporting, and analytics. In “What You’ve Always Wanted to Know About Cloud EPM,” RJ Linehan shared his expertise by providing a comprehensive overview and answering common FAQ’s such as What is Oracle EPM Cloud? What common challenges can it help me solve? Which business processes does it support?

I concluded the week with “AP Automation for Cloud ERP” led by sAchin cHoudhari, CEO, who set a foundation for modern true cloud technology via intelligent & autonomous technology that reimagines procure-to-pay and leads to greater control, more efficiencies and more savings. He also demonstrated a flow for AP automation combining Medius and EnterpriseOne (Orchestrator / BSSV). Contact us if you’d like to learn more about this solution.

AI-Driven cloud-Based supply chain automation

This conference was a fun and enjoyable way to reconnect with the JDE community and I can’t wait to do it again at this year’s InFocus, October 1-3 in Denver and back at Blueprint 4D, June 10-13 in Las Vegas.

Finally, full presentation slide decks from CE sessions are available to customers upon request. Should you wish to request access or if you have any questions or other resource needs, please consider me at your service. I am happy to help!
